At my website, I have a weekly photo caption contest and the winner wins a short e-book. I collect email addresses from those who enter the contest and it is notated that I will send periodic emails of interest. So far, that is what I do that is entertaining to people who visit my site plus as a bonus I get their email addies for marketing.

I am retired and my website is a source of income. I cannot afford to spend money on advertising. Not that people pay much attention to internet advertising these days. I understand that social media is what I should use to promote. Better yet it’s free. After seeing your interview with David Soskin, I plan on ordering his book on Amazon.

I own a restaurant and first put up my website to showcase the menu and provide map directions. I definitely recommend what you wrote about Local Search Success. But then I saw I was getting a lot of visitors to my site. I said to myself I should do more with the website. I should develop that into a biz too. Now I’ve become more of an entrepreneur. I have a big Mischief Night and Halloween shindig planned for the restaurant. I also incorporated Halloween entertainment elements on my website.

You have not left a website address, but if I saw it and I knew you were getting more traffic, I would a) look at that traffic to discover how to get even more, after all, if it is happening by accident, how much would you get by design? b) put opt-in offers all over the site to capture some of that traffic information and start talking to to your visitors one on one via email, facebook and the telephone – yes the telephone – now if you can actually get addresses, I would recommend that you write as well!

Good idea, buy his book, great investment, very inexpensive, I will put a link up so you can buy his book. Online advertising is often an investment that pays huge returns as well. Often we see 1-3,000% return on investment, but not always. Great post! I am currently writing ebooks and wanting to know if I sold them on my blog which is http://bellekayce.com I just don’t know where to start to get traffic. I have so many topics… but it’s because not only one single thing interests me. I want to write about EVERYTHING. So I never knew how to narrow down my traffic *sigh*. I’ve been studying your posts well on here and hopefully I’ll learn a thing or two.
